About Us
Thunder BRidge is an arts and cultural community tucked into the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia
Situated at the foot of Devil's Marbleyard, in the Thomas Jefferson National Forest, our 100 acre site was originally built as a CCC camp, and previously was also used as a boys correctional facility and a Big Brothers/Big Sisters camp.

Our 13 Artists in Residence are opening up their studios to the public.
Visitors are invited to begin their visit at the Thunder BRidge dining hall, which will showcase works by each resident artist with details of the studio locations.
Additional guest artists will display their work in certain studios, and all of the center’s 100 acres, including most of the 30-some buildings, will be open.
GLOBOWL CAFE of Lexington will have food available to purchase on site during the day
Scarf Art Workshop

Renown local artist, Lenny Lyons Bruno, will help folks make their own versions of the famous, sometimes funky, scarves she has offered for sale in the past. The workshop fee of $150 includes lunch. Thunder BRidge will host the workshop in its dining hall.
Maximum class size is 12, so you may want to register now!
To register send an email to: thunderbridgecampground@gmail.com. Please include: your name, snail mail address, phone number, whether you will bring your own sewing machine, and any information you would like others to know about your background and interests. Thunder BRidge a then follow up to arrange payment by check, Venmo, or Zelle.
Participants should bring at least three fabric selections (a sweater or two and other fabrics). Sewing machines and sample materials will be available for use. Attendees are invited to bring their own machines.
